Profileuniversity.com - University of Northern Iowa is a public university located in Cedar Falls, Iowa, United States. This institution was formed from the establishment of an orphanage in 1866, to accommodate the children displaced by the Civil War. Then in 1876, the institute turned into the Iowa State Normal School, which serves to provide training for teachers. Until finally, in 1976 changed again to the University of Northern Iowa, as we know it today.

Through five colleges which include business, education, social and behavioral sciences, humanities, arts and sciences, as well as the Graduate College, University of Northern Iowa offers more than 90 majors studies with various degrees in it, ranging from bachelor's degree, master's, to doctorate.

In addition to providing academic activities in the university campus, the University of Northern Iowa also provide facilities to students who excel to get a study abroad program. In fact, a study abroad program offered by this university is one of the best study abroad program in this country.

There is a building on the campus of this university, the University of Northern Iowa Campanile, a bell tower has a height of about a 324-foot. Where the building is the main place for campus tradition called Campaniling. In this tradition, the students will gather at night in the moonlight to give kisses to their old lover respectively or their new acquaintances.

And from one of the non-academic activities at the university is one of them are sports activities. University of Northern Iowa has a team sport known as pride purple and gold colors and mascot nicknamed the Panther. The sports teams compete with sports teams from other universities in competition NCAA Division I-AA athletics.
