University founded in 1869 is one of the largest schools in the Minnesota State College and University (MnSCU) system, which is the largest institution of higher education providers in Minnesota. The first time open the door, Saint Cloud State University is the school to produce college-level program that provides training to teachers.

Currently, over six academic colleges and schools owned, including the School of Health and Human Services, School of Computing, Engineering and Environment, School of the Public Affairs, School of Arts, GR Herberger Business School, College of Liberal Arts, College of Science and Engineering, and the College of Education, Saint Cloud State University offers more than 200 majors studies, minor and pre-professional programs.

University education system has been equipped with various amenities. One is SCSU Science Express is fully mobile, science lab on campus that have been brought into the world of high-tech science education for thousands of students K-12.

From athletic events, sports teams Saint Cloud State University is comprised of a team of men and women teams compete in NCAA Division II, except hockey team that competes in Division I. SCSU hockey team has produced many professional hockey players who have joined to several famous teams, such as the Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals.
