university located in High Point, North Carolina, United States,
approximately 20 miles from Winston-Salem, NC. The University was
founded in 1924 as High Point College and turned into High Point
University in October 1991. High Point University affiliated with the
United Methodist Church.
Through high school
and college today, including the School of Education, School of Health
Sciences; School of Pharmacy, David R. Hayworth College of Arts and
Sciences, as well as Nido Qubein School of Communication, High Point
University offers a variety of studies majors with a variety of degree
programs in it, ranging from bachelor, master, until a doctorate.
Since
2005, High Point University, led by Nido Qubein, which is overseen $
700 billion dollars in campus improvements and undergraduate growth from
1,450 to a record high of over 4,000 students. On campus, as many as 47
new buildings have been built or are under construction, including the
stadium and sports complex for tennis as well as four new dormitories.
In
2007, the university announced that it has made an investment more than
doubled from $ 110 into $ 225 in academic programs, construction of new
facilities, and the lives of students, including scholarships.
As
a campus that has undergone transformation, gifts and donations have
helped the High Point in the top-level speakers to campus, including
former President George W. Bush, former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani,
Chairman of the Coca-Cola Company and CEO Muhtar Kent, and comedian
Bill Cosby.
Global Experience summer program at
High Point University, "Maymester", offers an opportunity for students
to experience other cultures. In addition, the program also allows music
students to travel and perform in famous churches in Italy and the
Spanish students to master the Flamenco in Spain.
Of
other non-academic activities, especially athletics, High Point
University has several university sports club which consists of a team
of men and women who are well-known team with a mascot nicknamed Prowler
the Panther, who compete in competitions NCAA Division I-AAA.
