Northern Arizona University is a public university that was established in 1899. According to the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, the university is classified as a research university with a very high level. In addition, other recognition also came from the Society of American Foresters, which says that the university including a forestry school that is nationally accredited. And from other non-academic fields, especially sports, the university also has a sports team, known as the Lumberjacks, which competes with sports teams from other universities in the NCAA Division I athletics competition.
