University of Kansas

University of Kansas is a public research university founded in 1865. The University is the largest universities in the country and the oldest in the state of Kansas. The University has several campuses are located in Wichita, Overland Park, Salina, while the main campus is located in the region of Mount Oread, which is the highest area in Kansas, precisely in Lawrence, Kansas, United States.

Through schools, including the School of Architecture, Design and Planning, School of Business, School of Law, School of Engineering, and the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, University offers offers approximately 360 degree programs in nearly 200 majors of study.

Although this university has been providing a range of courses, but according to a university student, majoring in popular courses taken by students through special studies of education, city management, healthcare and social welfare. And to signify the completion of the hour every lesson in the classroom, the university will turn on a steam whistle.

The university has many achievements and awards in various fields, one of them from the field of sports. Where one of the university's sports teams, the basketball team, has won several national titles. It is indeed a proud achievement. And still of basketball, the university also has pride, because men's basketball team's first coach, Dr. James Naismith, the inventor of the game itself.

And tradition that still prevails in this university also still in touch with the basketball. Where in any basketball game, fans will raise their hands above his head, then move slowly wave them back and forth, mimicking a field of Kansas wheat swaying in the wind.

And for students who want to develop their talents and demonstrate achievements in sports, in addition to basketball of course, can join the university sports teams. With mascot, dubbed the Jayhawks, the university sports teams compete with other universities in the NCAA Division I athletics competition.
