Columbia University

Columbia University is the oldest institution of higher education in New York, as well as the fifth oldest in the United States. The University was founded in 1754.

Each student must complete the core curriculum of university programs, including the program of contemporary civilization, humanities literature, writing, art humanities, the limits of science, global core, foreign language and physical education.

The University has several global centers that facilitate international collaboration for research projects and study abroad, which was located in Amman, Beijing, Istanbul, Mumbai, Nairobi, Paris, and Santiago.

Many achievements have been successfully achieved by the alumni of this university, one of which is to receive the Nobel Peace prize. The university also has delivered many important people in various fields. There are three former president of the United States, more than 20 Academy Award winners, and nine Supreme Court Judges, who they all are graduates of Columbia University.

There is a unique tradition at this university on the eve of final exams, called "Primal Scream", which students are welcome to open a window and shout each at full speed in the middle of the night, for five minutes. The policy is made by the university so students are not depressed and feel relaxed.

Of non-academic fields, with the mascot, the Lion, of the university's sports teams compete with other universities in the NCAA Division I competition.
