Profileuniversity.com - Syracuse University is a private research university located in Syracuse, New York, USA. The University was founded in 1870 and is still affiliated with the United Methodist Church. To meet the demands of the educational needs of students in the surrounding area, recently just opened a school campus in New York City, that allows students to spend a semester of taking specialized coursework while completing internships.

Through nine schools and colleges, including the School of Architecture, College of Arts and Sciences, School of Information Studies, College of Visual and Performing Arts, Martin J. Whitman School of Management, SI Newhouse School of Public Communications, Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Relations, Faculty of Education, David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics, Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, and the College of Law, Syracuse University offers undergraduate degrees in over 200 majors.

In fact, one of the schools owned by Syracuse University, SI Newhouse School of Public Communications, is ranked among the top communication schools in the nation.

As best educational institutions, it is not surprising that Syracuse University has delivered many important people and the world famous, including Vice President, Joe Biden, television icon, Dick Clark and sportscasters Bob Costas and Mike Tirico. And with the popularity of the alumni, thus indirectly also helped boost the good name of the university.

In addition to providing and provide academic programs, the university also provides a variety of other non-academic activities through student organizations and clubs, complete with a variety of amenities. According to the university, approximately 30% of the student body is affiliated with one of the 70+ on-campus fraternities and sororities.

Through the organization and march, Syracuse University has an exceptionally large pool of student media organizations, with a broad range of student-run magazines, radio and television stations, newspapers, PR and advertising agencies. In addition, the university also has pride with CitrusTV, is one of the nation's largest states entirely student-run television studios.

And one of the more active organizations are also much in demand by students at this university is a sports club. Syracuse University has several sports clubs which consists of a team of men and women's teams are nicknamed the Orange, who participated in the NCAA Division I in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Through one of these athletic activities, in February 2014, Syracuse University has a record with the number 35.446 basketball fans who packed the stadium in a game against Duke University.
