Southern Methodist University is a private research university in Dallas, Texas, United States. The University was founded in 1911 and is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Southern Methodist University also has a satellite campus located in Taos, New Mexico.

Through schools and colleges, including the Cox School of Business, Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences, Dedman School of Law, Meadows School of the Arts, Perkins School of Theology, Lyle School of Engineering, and Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development, Southern Methodist University offer nearly 40 undergraduate majors and 57 minors, as well as 19 master's and 13 doctoral programs.
