Profileuniversity.com - Washington University in Saint Louis is a private research university four-year, coeducational, which is located in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA. The University was founded in 1853. The word "Saint Louis" was added in 1976 to avoid public confusion over the location of the university campus. This is because many other similar universities that use the words "Washington University". Washington University in Saint Louis, also known as WUSTL, an acronym derived from the first letter initials.

Through schools and colleges, including the College of Arts & Sciences, College of Architecture, George Warren Brown School of Social Work, Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, School of Engineering, and the School of Law, Washington University in Saint Louis offers more than 90 programs and about 1,500 courses in traditional and interdisciplinary fields for degrees ranging from bachelor's to doctoral degrees. School of Law at this university was the first chartered law school in the US to accept women.

Since its founding to the present, Washington University in Saint Louis has achieved many accomplishments and awards, one of which was the winner of the Nobel Prize was won by TS Eliot, a grandson of the founder of WU. In 1916, precisely in May, a student wrote the drama club, filmed and performed "The Maid of McMillan", which is the first silent movie ever produced by college students.

Of athletic activities in the university campus, WUSTL has been providing a wide range of sports facilities and infrastructure so that the students can develop their talents in sports, until finally they were able to demonstrate their achievements in these sports at the NCAA Division III athletics arena, a sports competition among universities followed by university sports teams, with the mascot, dubbed the Bear.

Just additional information from sports activities are in 1904, the first Olympic Games held in North America (the third Olympics in modern times) occurred on the university's Francis Field.
