Profileuniversity.com - University of Pennsylvania, also known as Penn or UPenn is a private research university located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, which was founded by Benjamin Franklin. The University of Pennsylvania, which opened its doors in 1751, started as a charitable school for children of Philadelphia's working-class.

This school was the first in the colonies to offer both graduate and undergraduate programs. And in 1765, the institution opened the first medical school in America. UPenn is one of 14 founding members of the Association of American University and one of the original nine Colonial Colleges.

Through school and college they have today, including the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Liberal and Professional Studies, School of Medicine, School of Dentistry, business schools, the School of Law, School of Engineering, UPenn offers a wide range of majors studies with different degree programs in it.

In addition, undergraduates can work toward 89 majors at the university's four schools: the Wharton School, the which is focused on business; the College at Penn, the which is geared towards arts and sciences; the School of Engineering and Applied Science; and the School of Nursing.

As one of the leading universities in the world are supported by a highly qualified education system, it is no wonder if many achievements and recognition achieved by members of the UPenn. Recorded since 1923 until now, over a dozen Penn scholars have won the Nobel Prize.

In addition to offering a variety of academic activities, through student organizations and associations, UPenn also provides a wide range of non-academic activities, one of which university athletic activities. UPenn has some athletic team consisting of a team of men and women's teams competing in the competition NCAA Division I-AA athletics, which is known as the mascot yng nicknamed the Quakers. And a UPenn's oldest stadium, Franklin Field, is still used today.
